Family Christian Center Schools history
The vision, under the leadership of Pastor Rick and Beckee Van Wagner, to start a Christian school in Clermont, Florida began with a preschool that was named Family Christian Center Preschool in August of 2004.
Soon afterwards, expansion began in adding an additional 12 classrooms for a VPK program in January of 2009. Further expansion continued as Family Christian Center School was established, offering Christian education for grades kindergarten through 5th grade in 2010.
In August 2011 further growth continued with the expansion of grades 4th through 11th and the addition of 8 new modular classrooms. The elementary and secondary grades received its first accreditation through the Advance ED/ILCS, and has remained accredited. In 2013 FCCS graduated its first graduating class, and by 2015 the renovation of building space continued in order to make room for additional classrooms.
To accommodate the extra-curricular activity needs of its students, in 2018 FCCS added a volleyball/basketball sport court and soccer field. Then in 2023 FCCS built a middle and high school building with additional classrooms on its 34 acre campus to accommodate the continued student growth. Today, God continues to bless and flourish FCCS as a quality accredited PreK through 12th grade Christian school of 900 students with a certified teaching and leadership staff who cares about each student and family, and operates under the mission of developing students in mind, body, and spirit to honor God.
