High School
The high school experience at FCCS is designed to be transformative, equipping students to discover their God-given purpose while preparing them for the challenges of higher education, careers, and life. Our high school curriculum integrates resources from Abeka, Bob Jones University Press, Apologia Science, and Summit Ministries, creating a rigorous academic foundation rooted in a biblical worldview. Students can take honors-level courses for deeper academic challenges, and the dual enrollment program enables them to earn college credits through partnerships with Lake Sumter College, Southeastern University, Oral Roberts University, and the University of South Florida.
As part of their high school journey, ninth-grade students receive college planning guidance, helping them begin to chart a path for post-secondary education. This includes information on college applications, scholarships, career options, and the preparation required for success in higher education.
FCCS also offers an expanded selection of electives through the Ignitia online platform, providing students access to diverse courses such as engineering, robotics, an array of foreign languages, and even nursing and applied healthcare career classes. These options allow students to explore their passions and develop skills for future careers.
Our students have unique opportunities to grow spiritually and develop leadership skills through programs like The Treasure Exchange Leadership Cohort, which equips students to impact their communities and the world. Chapel services, which are primarily student-led, involve production, worship, and instrumentation, providing a dynamic platform for students to grow in their faith and leadership abilities.
In their senior year, FCCS students participate in the Senior Capstone, a project designed to challenge them to apply the knowledge, skills, and faith they have developed during their high school years. The Capstone project encourages students to explore a real-world issue, develop a plan for addressing it, and present their findings. This process fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional presentation skills, while reinforcing the importance of using one’s gifts for the service of others.
FCCS high school students also thrive in a variety of extracurricular activities and events. Leadership opportunities are abundant through the Student Government Association (SGA), community service projects, and participation in the LCS Festival, which brings together Christian schools for competition and fellowship.
